What is MasterCard SecureCode?
MasterCard SecureCode is a simple and secure way to pay online. A private code known only to you and your bank, your SecureCode enhances your existing MasterCard account by protecting you against unauthorized use of your card when paying online.
As part of customer protection commitment, the SecureCode service works to ensure that you alone can use your credit card online.
How does MasterCard SecureCode protect me?
When you correctly enter your SecureCode during a card registration or deposit request, you confirm that you are the authorized cardholder and the request is then completed. If an incorrect SecureCode is entered, the deposit request will not be completed. Even if someone knows your credit or debit card number, the card registration or deposit process cannot be completed without your SecureCode at a participating merchant.
How much does SecureCode cost?
Nothing. SecureCode is absolutely FREE to MasterCard and Maestro cardholders. ECash Direct will also not impose any fees.
Do I need a new card to use SecureCode?
No. SecureCode works with your existing personal MasterCard or Maestro card.
How do I register?
If you do not have a SecureCode code while registering a card or depositing online, you will be prompted to register for one before completing your deposit session.
How do I deposit using SecureCode?
Once you have registered for the service and when you register a card or deposit online, simply proceed to the payment page as you normally would.
You will then be presented with a SecureCode pop-up window that will list the details of your transaction and ask you to provide your personal code. Enter your code and select Submit.
